Let’s talk about a special kind of mad that stems from a trash performance review…the kind of mad where you’ve worked hard all year, sit across from your boss only to get a speech and a sorry increase. You need your job so instead of flipping the table, you nod, go back to your desk, and contemplate a life of crime.
Then you suddenly remember you’re scared to go to jail.
Deep sigh. This can’t be it.
It’s not – that’s why I’m teaching a FREE live class on Tuesday 4/16 to show you how to go from overworked & underpaid to a better job & bigger salary. Click here to sign up!
So let’s plan for next year now.
Step 1: Get clear about your goal. A raise? How much? Why? A promotion? To what? What’s will be different in your new role?
Step 2: Clearly spell out your goals to your boss and ask for their support (if they won’t support your efforts, find out why).
Step 3: Keep score of your contributions – think how many/how much. Check in with your boss monthly to share a summary of your accomplishments. The key here is to keep your goals and contributions in front of him/her and get feedback so you can either keep going or correct.
At the end of the year, you’ll either have a strong case for a raise/promotion or receipts that you can use to update your resume. WIN!
I hope you can join me on Tuesday. This is the last time I’ll be hosting this class in 2019 and I’m doing the most…what to say on your resume to get more interviews, my #1 interview prep secret, and key negotiation strategies!
Register here and I’ll see you on Tuesday!
Opportunity Awaits,
Ashley
