It’s happened to the best of us…we prepare, we practice, we give it the old college try, and we don’t get the damn job…sigh.
It’s disappointing, frustrating even (especially when they don’t give you the courtesy of letting you know let alone, why…but it’s not the end friend.
Say what? Nope! Because now, you’ve got new connections in that organization, a recruiter or two, a hiring manager, maybe even a peer. That L is starting to look like a dub because you’ve now added more people in your industry to your network.
Here’s 3 ways you can tap into this new network:
1. Add all of the people you met during the interview process on LinkedIn (it will come in handy later).
2. Keep your eyes peeled for other opportunities within that organization…see something? Shoot your new network an email and ask them to forward your resume to the hiring manager. You’ve literally got an inside track now.
3. Find another role you’re interested in? Hit up your new network on LinkedIn for an introduction (told you that would come in handy).
Obviously, this only works if you made a good impression, which I’m sure you did :). The point is, be strategic about making every interaction, meeting, interview work for you until you land that dream role.
Opportunity Awaits,
Ashley
